Promise made, promise kept. After Trump beat ISIS in a matter of months, not the generational struggle Obama promised us, he has kept his word and is pulling our troops out of Syria. Mark this as yet another victory for our President. It is not an exaggeration to say he has been the best president we’ve had in at least 100 years, and could be more than that by the time his 8 years are up.
Granted, “defeated ISIS” is probably an exaggeration. There’s no evidence they are completely, 100%, wiped out. But they’re defeated enough to give good optics to pull out of Syria. Which is a good thing, because Syria is only a losing situation for us. And it’s harder to nation build when you pull out entirely, which is why the establishment is so mad. A general heuristic: if the establishment on both sides is mad at you, you’re probably doing the right thing.
It’s easy to get frustrated at the pace with which things are going, especially in the areas he’s failed to deliver thus far (wall, immigration reform, draining the swamp) but it’s important to reflect especially at the end of the year on what he’s done thus far. Consider, just for a moment, the alternative. Also take note that President Trump has far too much skin in the game at this point to lose. It is not a stretch to say his family could literally be wiped off the Earth from the Cabal if he fails in defeating them. That is the most powerful motivator.
