Vatican pushes back on gender theory

It’s nice to see the Vatican pushing back at least a little bit on at least one topic.  On June 12th, in the middle of Pride month, they released “MALE AND FEMALE HE CREATED THEM” which is to serve as an aid to Catholic school teachers on how to deal with the topic of gender theory.  National Catholic Reporter did a nice writeup on the document:

VATICAN CITY — The Vatican office responsible for overseeing Catholic educational institutions around the world has blasted modern gender theory, claiming in a new document that it seeks to “annihilate the concept of ‘nature.’ ”

In an instruction released June 10 as LGBT people globally are celebrating pride month, the Congregation for Catholic Education calls the idea of people’s gender identities existing along a spectrum “nothing more than a confused concept of freedom in the realm of feelings and wants.”

Labeling the biological differences between men and women “constitutive of human identity,” the office also questions the intentions of those who identify as intersex and transgender.

“Efforts to go beyond the constitutive male-female sexual difference, such as the ideas of ‘intersex’ or ‘transgender,’ lead to a masculinity or femininity that is ambiguous,” states the document.

“This oscillation between male and female becomes, at the end of the day, only a ‘provocative’ display against so-called ‘traditional frameworks,’ ” it continues.

The document, which carries the title “Male and female he created them,” was released by the Vatican June 10 without prior announcement. Described as an aid for Catholic schoolteachers and parents, it is signed by the educational congregation’s leaders: Italians Cardinal Giuseppe Versaldi and Archbishop Angelo Zani.

The educational aid does not carry Pope Francis’ signature, and the text makes no reference of the pontiff reviewing the document.

Groups that minister to LGBT Catholics immediately criticized the document. New Ways Ministry, one such group, called it a “harmful tool that will be used to oppress and harm not only transgender people, but lesbian, gay, [and] bisexual people, too.”

And further down:

The new document, which is 31 pages in length, does not speak of accompanying transgender people. It instead issues fierce warnings and criticisms of how children and young people are being educated today.

The text opens by saying that society is facing “an educational crisis, especially in the field of affectivity and sexuality.”

It then claims that cultural “disorientation” has destabilized the family as an institution, “bringing with it a tendency to cancel out the differences between men and women, presenting them instead as merely the product of historical and cultural conditioning.”

The heart of the document critiques modern society’s detachment of an individual’s concept of gender from their biological sex.

“Gender theory … speaks of a gradual process of denaturalization, that is a move away from nature and towards an absolute option for the decision of the feelings of the human subject,” it states.

“In this understanding of things, the view of both sexuality identity and the family become subject to the same ‘liquidity’ and ‘fluidity’ that characterize other aspects of post-modern culture, often founded on nothing more than a confused concept of freedom in the realm of feelings and wants, or momentary desires provoked by emotional impulses and the will of the individual,” it continues.

The text claims that genetic studies have shown that male and female embryos differ “from the very moment of conception.” In cases where a child is born with ambiguous genitalia, it says “it is medical professionals who can make a therapeutic intervention.”

“In such situations, parents cannot make an arbitrary choice on the issue, let alone society,” it recommends. “Instead, medical science should act with purely therapeutic ends, and intervene in the least invasive fashion, on the basis of objective parameters and with a view to establishing the person’s constitutive identity.”

Retelling the Genesis story of God creating humans in his image as men and women, the document calls for a reaffirming of “the metaphysical roots of sexual difference.”

Of course Pope Francis didn’t sign the document.  The document makes too much sense so why would he?

It is nice to see the biggest Christian institution push back on this.  Setting aside Catholic/non-Catholic differences, all Christians need to unite.  We are at a dangerous time in society and infighting is not going to help at all.  Western Civilization is under attack, and Christendom, being the main pillar of the West, must band together to try and take back what is ours.  We as Christians also need to be more vocal about uncomfortable topics like gender theory and transgenderism.  Staying silent to some shows complicity and approval.  It allows these ideas to slowly creep in; subtly at first but eventually growing in confidence and strength as they gain more ground.  Stand firm in what you believe.  Be vocal.  It is not an act of love to watch someone do something harmful to themselves and encourage it.  Just like it is not an act of love to encourage an alcoholic to continue drinking, it is doing the individual no favors if we encourage them to mutilate his or her body as if it was something completely normal and acceptable.  Love sometimes requires telling difficult truths to those we care about.

Let this also serve as a stark warning that what you may take for granted in what our schools are teaching our children may not line up at all with what they are actually teaching.  This was a document for Catholic schools.  There are some horrendous things going on in public schools right now that many parents would be outraged if they discovered this is what their children are being taught.  Do you really want your 10 year old daughter competing in a condom race to see how quickly they can put on a condom?  Do you think it just ends there?  What do you think a school putting these events on is teaching your children about sex education?

It sounds cliche but our children really are the future.  At such a young age their minds are the most malleable, and the values and ideas that are instilled into them now serve as a foundation for how they conduct themselves and live the rest of their lives.  If we allow our educational system to plant seeds of degeneracy and teach values contrary to Western Civilization and contra Christian values they will never learn what truth and beauty are, and never gain the crucial faculties to combat the evil that they will be bombarded with every step of the way.

Satanic Temple challenges abortion ruling

Is everyone happy?  Look how progressive we are!  Via Fox News:

The Satanic Temple said Tuesday that in the name of religious liberty, it would challenge a Supreme Court ruling that upheld an Indiana law requiring the burial or cremation of fetal remains.

The group, based in Salem, Mass., has declared immunity for its members from the law, it said in a news release.

“One of the Satanic Temple’s fundamental tenets is the inviolability of one’s body,” the group said in a statement. “Members … believe that nonviable fetal tissue is part of the woman who carries it.”

And a little further down:

A member of the group in Missouri recently challenged a state law requiring women seeking an abortion to wait three days. It unsuccessfully fought to have a statue of a goat-headed, winged creature called Baphomet placed outside capitols in Arkansas and Oklahoma.

The statue would have been a counterpoint to the Ten Commandments. In 2016, the Portland chapter of the Satanic Temple successfully brought an “After School Satan Club” to an elementary school.

This is what happens when you remove Christianity from western civilization.  Evil creeps in.  Subtle at first, but it comes more to the forefront as it grows.  People used to make fun of those church groups screaming about satanic worship in the 90s.  Saturday Night Live made jokes about it.  It was all fun and games, right guys?

The Evil One is alive and well, and flourishing.  The world is fallen.  The more Christianity is removed the harder it is from people to come out of their blind stupor.  And no, I am not talking in metaphors or figuratively.  I am talking literal evil.  Look at Hollywood.  They flaunt it in our faces all the time.  These aren’t jokey references, they really do worship Satan.  They really do channel dark powers.  More Jeremiah Cohen below, give his channel a look.

A great conversation between JT and JLP

Jared Taylor and Jesse Lee Peterson had a great conversation recently on Renaissance Radio.  It seems to be one of the very few podcasts from RR not on YouTube…I can’t image why…but it can be found in its entirety here.  But a small snippet is included below.  It is refreshing to hear two Christians, one white and one African-American, have a frank discussion on difficult topics that are essentially verboten today.  I don’t necessarily agree with either one entirely on every take, but one they both agree on and that I think all of us can agree on is that government subsistence to African-Americans has done them zero favors.  They went from physical enslavement to a mental enslavement of sorts.  When self-responsibility is taken away, and you are taught that you are a victim, there is nothing you can do, and <insert group here> are the people to blame for your current lot in life, evil and derision will abound.

Jesse is not afraid to take on other “uncomfortable” topics head on like family structure, feminism, voting, and President Trump.  He attributes many of our nation’s problems to a lack of Christianity.  Take a listen of the small 4′ clip below for a taste.

Just speak the whole truth

I recently finished John MacArthur Jr’s excellent book Ashamed of the Gospel: When the Church becomes like the World.  Written in 1993, it is as relevant today as ever.  A brief snippet:

Like the modernists a century ago, churches in the user-friendly movement have decided that doctrine is divisive and that peace is more important than sound teaching.  Wanting to appeal to a modern age, they try to frame their message as a friendly, agreeable, and relevant dialogue.  Unfortunately, it is often the most “relevant” topics that the church can ill afford to agree on.  The pet doctrines of our modern age – radicalism, abortion, feminism, homosexuality, and other politically charged moral issues – pose the most obvious problems for user-friendly churches.  Their undefined theology and seeker-sensitive philosophy do not permit them to take a firm biblical stance on such matters, because the moment they defy the spirit of the age, they forfeit their marketing appeal.  They are therefore forced to keep mum or capitulate.  Either way, they compromise the truth.

If a church is not even willing to take a firm stand against abortion, how will that church deal with erosion of crucial doctrine?  If a church lacks discernment enough to condemn such overt errors as homosexuality or feminism, how will that church handle a subtle attack on doctrinal integrity?

More than 25 years later I think we can see the answer to the above questions.  The erosion of Christianity in the West has been the greatest contributor to the downfall of the West.  We have turned a blind eye to our moral compass and have sown at least one full generation that is spiritually bankrupt.  Where has it gotten us?  Can anyone honestly say we are better off today than we were just one or two generations ago?

Evil will constantly try to infiltrate and disrupt.  It requires constant attention and weeding.  Too many churches became friendly with the world.  It always starts slowly and seemingly harmlessly enough.  Eventually the wizardry begins, that is when some of those hot topics spoken about above are broached.  People are shamed to keep silent on what they know to be true.  Those evil spirits try to bend the word, trying to confuse and mask.  How many times have you heard someone say that because God is all-loving surely homosexuality must be ok?  Or that everyone will be saved, etc etc etc.

No.  Too many churches turned soft.  The Joel Osteen-types only talk about the feel-good mush with nothing about the hard work or dire consequences for those who do not repent.  MacArthur talks about the pragmatic approach too many churches take today.  Churches that use attendance as the almighty metric of church health.  Is a church really healthier if you’ve perverted or obfuscated the word to attract a few more people?  Of course not.

I do believe the pendulum is swinging back though.  There are many hard times ahead, and hard times wake people up.  And with that reality check people are also realizing they thirst for something deeper and more fulfilling than the superficial nonsense some will spout.  The Word does not require sugar coating, or clever marketing ploys, or any of that other nonsense.  The Word speaks for itself.  The Word, in its pure unadulterated form is what is needed.  Sometimes that can be hard to swallow.  Sometimes you may wrestle with it.  That can be a good thing.  Better to wrestle with actual spiritual nourishment than conforming to the world and all its perversions as many do today.  And frankly as more go back to Christianity and the Bible you will see a revival in the Churches too.  Nobody can honestly say that softening the word has helped at all.  Compare it to Islam now.  Islam hasn’t exactly softened their message at all and they are growing at a noticeably faster rate.

The West will likely not survive in its current form.  The wars that will inevitably come as a result of the immigration and multicultural onslaught of the past few decades will result in a rise of nations and like-minded people living closer together and in the end being stronger for it.  Christian nationalist nations will rise.  Even though some of our churches are lost are on the down-grade, to use a term coined by Spurgeon, those institutions can be taken back too.  All is not lost, so do not be demoralized.

Birth rates continue to plummet in the West

They have declined across the board, save for women over 35.  The entire report from the CDC’s National Center for Health Statistics can be found here.  Here’s a snippet from the results:

The provisional number of births for the United States in 2018 was 3,788,235, down 2% from 2017 and the lowest number of births in 32 years.  The general fertility rate was 59.0 per 1,000 women aged 15-44, down 2% from 2017 and another record low for the United States.  The total fertility rate declined 2% to 1,728.0 per 1,000 women in 2018, another record low for the nation.  Birth rates declined for nearly all age groups of women under 35, but rose for women in their late 30s and early 40s.  The birth rate for teenagers aged 15-19 was down 7% in 2018 to 17.4 births per 1,000 women; rates declined for both younger (aged 15-17) and older (aged 18-19) teenagers.

While the birth rate overall dropping tells a story, what’s actually important is the birth rate by race.  Babies born in America aren’t magically a new race that is “American” so the total birth rate doesn’t really matter if a large portion of the country does not want to adhere to the standards and principles the country was founded on anyway.  Non-hispanic whites continue to lag behind, exacerbating the problem of what will soon be a majority non-white country.  But the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965 won’t change the demographics of the country, right?  Not surprisingly, they don’t give the race statistics in the same way as every other statistic they cite.  Instead of telling us the birth rate by race, they simply supply the raw numbers.  This is a ploy.  Non-hispanic whites had more overall births, just over twice as many births as Hispanics, but when you consider non-Hispanic whites make up about 65% of the population and Hispanics just under 20% that tells quite a different story on who is breeding in larger numbers, by a noticeable margin.  People will continue to pretend they do not care or that this does not matter.  Just remember that when the percentages flip.  And remember where these people came from and how they ran their governments in their home countries.  This is what we have to look forward to.

Screen Shot 2019-05-15 at 1.31.37 PM.png

In an age where we are told to live for today, who cares about tomorrow, YOLO, etc, it is not surprising to see birth rates continue to drop in the West.  Christianity, which instills a mentality of planting seeds today for trees under which you will never enjoy the shade, has continued to be attacked and removed.  This, perhaps more than any other factor, has decimated birth rates too.  We have grown fat and lazy, indulge way too much in entertainment and other useless vices, and have grown complacent.  It is easy to see the mentality of “who wants the responsibility of kids” when there’s so much other entertainment and distraction out there.  Couple this with back-breaking taxes and the near impossibility of buying a house that won’t steep you in debt for 30 years and it only gets worse.  The only people who benefit from having more kids are those on welfare, further sucking the financial life out of hard-working people.

Sadly, the other factor nobody wants to talk about is the declining birth rate as women become more educated and work more.  One would hope we could have both, but clearly that is not happening.  If people were willing to have an open and honest conversation about this, perhaps something could be done about it.  Men and women age-wise might be better off taking different approaches to education and a career.  Might it not make more sense for women to marry and have kids before investing 10+ years in higher education and establishment in the workforce?  Is it even possible to wonder if this is a possibility without some people flipping out?  Just throwing it out there.

These birth rate trends cannot, and will not, last.  When the economic system finally becomes overloaded due to the combination of increased debt spending, yoking earners with ever more financial responsibility for those sucking off the government tit through welfare programs, and the demographic flip, the collapse will not be pretty.  And the longer it is put off the more it will hurt.

While this all sounds dour, there is hope.  At least for Christians.  That is one of the many beautiful things about Christianity; hope.  We are long overdue for a major correction.  It will come in the form of economic collapse and war.  Over 100 million immigrants and their descendants have come here since 1965 slowly eroding away the fabric of the country.  Eventually it will break.  Now is the time to move to a place and around people you can associate with and build strong communities.  Christians need to band together.  The inevitable loss of entertainment and “easy times” will help pave the way to higher birth rates, and honestly would it be such a bad thing to not be so globally connected and lost in our smart phones all day?  Strong, local, communities will spring up.  New nations will rise.

It wasn’t ever going to be easy

Doth that man love his Lord who would be willing to see Jesus wearing a crown of thorns, while for himself he craves a chaplet of laurel?  Shall Jesus ascend to His throne by the cross, and do we expect to be carried there on the shoulders of applauding crowds?  Be not so vain in your imagination.  Count you the cost, and if you are not willing to bear Christ’s cross, go away to your farm and to your merchandise, and make the most of them; only let me whisper this in your ear, “What shall it profit a man if he gain the whole world and lose his own soul?”

-Charles Haddon Spurgeon

Strong words.  But as true today as when uttered over 100 years ago.  As Christians we should know that the narrow way was never going to be easy.  The Church will always be attacked, and our beliefs will constantly be challenged.  We will be ridiculed.  They will try to shame us to conform to today’s ever changing standard of what is acceptable.  To blatantly tolerate evil.

Look around you.  It is everywhere.  Western Civilization has already ceded so much ground being tolerant to the world.  Can anyone honestly say we are better off for it?  Of course not.  But let us not be demoralized; it is so easy to do so when we are constantly bombarded by negative news.  We have the Lord on our side.  Stand firm to your convictions.  Do not cede ground to the world.  Stand up for what you believe in.  It may be hard now, but it is eternally worth it.

A Nice Reminder

This serves as a nice reminder, and is especially appropriate given Christ’s Resurrection and in this year’s festivities.  In this context, Apostle Paul was stern here, pushing back against those who may have doubted His raising from the dead.  All of 1 Corinthians is well worth a read again now and then, but this serves as a nice reminder today for us.

33 Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.”[d] 34 Wake up from your drunken stupor, as is right, and do not go on sinning. For some have no knowledge of God. I say this to your shame.

1 Corinthians 15:33-34 (ESV)

They can’t even say the word

Easter worshippers.  They can’t even call them Christians.  Easter worshippers.

Compare how Obama and Hillary treat the horrible Sri Lanka Easter attacks to that of the New Zealand shooting.

One could look at this as more proof that evil exists and the only counter to evil is Christianity.  These worshippers of Satan can’t even say the word.

Christianophobia will never become a thing.  Muslims will never be called out when they attack Christians.  Look at how they used the New Zealand shooting to a – defend Islam, b – push an anti-gun agenda, and c – attack white people.  They don’t even try hiding their blatant hate for Christianity anymore.  And any time they can pin something bad on whites they will do so.  Yes Hillary, “white supremacist terrorists” and their “murderous hatred” are the real problem here.  Right.  Why aren’t you using similar language for the suicide bombers who killed at least 4 times as many Christians and injured hundreds more?

Christians massacred on Easter

Christ is risen!  As hard as they want to try, they cannot take away His ultimate victory.  Sadly, more than 200 Christian lives were taken and hundreds injured in attacks on several Christian churches and a few hotels in Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday.

More than 200 people were killed and hundreds more hospitalized from injuries after a series of blasts devastated three churches and three luxury hotels in Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday.

The targets were Catholic worshippers attending Easter Mass and guests at high-end hotels popular with foreign tourists.

Two of the blasts were suspected to have been suicide bomber attacks, according to one official who spoke to the Associated Press (AP) on condition of anonymity.

Reports now indicate a seventh explosion in the Sri Lankan capital has killed two people. Police spokesman Ruwan Gunasekera said the blast hit a hotel in the southern Colombo suburb of Dehiwala.

Worshippers and hotel guests were among the fatalities, the official said, in the biggest violence in the South Asian country since its civil war ended a decade ago. Nine foreigners were among the dead, officials confirmed.

The three hotels hit were the Shangri-La Colombo, Kingsbury Hotel in Colombo and the Cinnamon Grand Colombo.

In just one church, St. Sebastian’s in Katuwapitiya, north of the Sri Lankan capital, more than 50 people were killed, a police official told Reuters, with pictures showing bodies on the ground, blood on the pews and a destroyed roof.

The war against Christianity has escalated recently.  And make no mistake about it this is a war.  This is the second high profile blatant attack against Christians during the holiest week of the Christian calendar.

Christians need to wake up.  Many are awake, and more awakening, but on the whole some of the larger institutions (many being converged) are not viewing this as seriously as they should be.

As always, the mainstream media is doing a full court press to downplay any potential terrorist attacks.  While pretty much all signs point to a Muslim attack or a deep state false flag, that is never their story.  Compare the coverage of the New Zealand shooting to these attacks against Christians and their institutions.  The response from New Zealand has been a gun grab and more BS about toleration.  Have you heard any MSM criticism or allusion to Islam?  Will Christianophobia ever become a thing like Islamophobia?  Of course not.

Pray for the victims and their families.  Christians around the world need to band together and start to get serious about attacks against them.  People are waking up.  The pendulum is swinging back.  This just pushes the inevitable response that much closer.

Bach – Mass in B Minor performed in Notre Dame de Paris

One of music’s greatest achievements played in one of the West’s most prized locations.  Christianity inspired both.  Here’s one way the piece was described:

The Mass was described in the 19th century by the editor Hans Georg Nägeli as “The Announcement of the Greatest Musical Work of All Times and All People” (“Ankündigung des größten musikalischen Kunstwerkes aller Zeiten und Völker”).[41]

Update: Well, they took down the one performed in Notre Dame.  Censoring seemingly everything about Notre Dame hard.  Even classical music.  Awesome.  Here’s another version of the same piece.  Unfortunately not the same venue.
