If we are to truly address and fix the problem of illegal immigration we need to change the laws. It is not compassionate, or “the right thing to do”, or any crap like that to give those entering our country illegally and committing violent crimes against our citizens the same due process as anybody else. Try explaining to the father whose daughter was raped 3 times by an illegal why he’s only being held on a $100,000 bond. If past experiences are any indicator, it would not be altogether surprising if he were released.
There is a particularly disturbing lie that is constantly thrown around that immigrants commit crimes at a smaller rate than legal residents. As if that were any reason to let anyone else in. Newsflash: the aggregate of crimes is what is important, not the rate. Even so, I posted about this last year debunking this myth. New data from earlier this month shows that illegal aliens commit crimes up to five times the rate of legal residents.
(February 5, 2019, Washington, D.C.) — Illegal aliens are incarcerated as much as five times the rate of legal residents – and on average three times the rate of legal residents – in states where they are most heavily concentrated, according to a new study published by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR).
The study analyzes the most recent illegal alien incarceration data available from the federal government’s State Criminal Alien Assistance Program (SCAAP), which reimburses states for a small portion of the costs of incarcerating criminal illegal aliens. The report looks at SCAAP payments to states with large illegal alien populations and compares it to the public records of state and local prisons. The states analyzed include: Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Texas and Washington which, together, comprise the majority – 65 percent – of the nation’s illegal alien population. Importantly, the report does not include illegal aliens who have been convicted of federal criminal charges and are serving time in a Federal Bureau of Prison facility.
“This study should put to rest, once and for all, the notion that illegal aliens commit crimes at a lower rate than legal residents,” said FAIR President Dan Stein. “By focusing on states with significant illegal alien populations and that consistently report to the SCAAP program, FAIR’s study refutes this erroneous claim,” he said. “Contrary to the popular myth, this analysis shows that when applied nationally, SCAAP data from key states suggest that illegal aliens are incarcerated at three times the rate of legal residents, on average.”
You can read the full report in the link. The problem of illegal immigration could be stopped very quickly if we really, truly, wanted to stop the problem once and for all. One, a border wall. Two, shoot to kill at the border anyone crossing illegally. Three, accelerated trials for illegals. If they are proven to be in the country illegally, then they should be deported immediately for minor offenses and punished swiftly and harshly for violent crimes like rape and murder. I would probably prefer the death penalty over life imprisonment.
It is very simple. If you come into this country illegally, and commit violent crimes against legal residents, you will be punished severely. Plain and simple. How many people do you think would need to be punished before people got the message and stopped abusing our laughable laws? It would not be surprising at all to see illegals self-deport once the program got underway. American citizens deserve better than what they currently receive. The fact that we essentially shelter these monsters is horrific.
