Google in China

About the only honest thing Google has done recently is remove “don’t be evil” from their code of conduct.  As of now Google is banned from China because of the Draconian laws China has put in place restricting free speech.  Those days may be numbered.  Via Daily Mail:

Google’s secretive plans in China are attracting renewed scrutiny from privacy advocates.

The tech giant is said to be building a prototype version of a censored Chinese search engine that links users’ activity to their personal phone number, according to the Intercept.

In doing so, it would be able to comply with the Chinese government’s censorship requirements, increasing the chances that such a product would launch there in the future.

Recent reports have suggested Google plans to build a censored version of its search engine in China, as part of a project called ‘Dragonfly.’

The app would have to comply with China’s rigid censorship laws, which would mean restricting access to content that government officials consider unfavorable.

Search terms about human rights, democracy, religion and peaceful protests will be blocked from the app.

Freedom of speech should be one issue that both the left and the right can unite on.  Increasingly you’re seeing a call for increased censorship by those on the left to police so called “hate speech” or really anything that offends them.  It was refreshing to hear that both Dems and Republicans are teaming up at least a little bit on this one.

Google (Alphabet) needs to be broken up.  And there needs to be a serious discussion on considering that action for the likes of Twitter, YouTube, and Facebook as well.  At this point in their respective domains they really are the only option to reach massive amounts of people.  They use freedom of speech when it’s convenient for them, then the whole “we’re a private company so we can do whatever we want” in cases where they want to censor certain groups of people.  Facebook, Google, Twitter, YouTube have all come (or are about to come) to congressional hearings relating to privacy and censorship concerns.  They all lie through their teeth because they’re not under oath and by and large these hearings have no legal bite to them at all so these executives could care less that they’re lying.  Most of them have most of Congress in their pockets anyway.

But it’s clear there are biases here, as much as they don’t want to admit it.  And they are social engineering, and they are affecting how people think and what they think of those running for office, etc.  If all of these censorship issues truly are glitches, as they like to claim, why is it only conservatives are the only ones ever targeted?  Why haven’t we heard outrage from the left that they’re the ones being censored?  Watch a snippet of the video below of Google’s executives lamenting President Trump’s glorious victory the day after the election.  That session, one of their TGIF sessions, was an hour long, the entire meeting of which was to complain that Trump won.  It’s very hard to believe that the entire board of Google abhors Trump yet claim to be neutral when it comes to running their own damn search engine.

China under Communist rule has been a disaster for its people.  There should be some law that prevents American companies from helping a despotic government police and censor its people.  “Don’t be evil” being removed I’m sure wasn’t taken lightly.  And I’m sure they know what they’re doing is dark, sinister, and purely a cash grab at the expense of individual freedom of those in China.  Awful.

There’s a reason freedom of speech is the first amendment.  It is the most important.  This isn’t even debatable.  We’ve taken our liberties for granted for far too long in this country.  It is out of control now and action needs to be taken soon or we’ll rue the day we remained asleep behind the wheel.

Julian the trans puppet to the rescue to help kids having gender issues…

In today’s episode of stupid crap Canada is doing I’d like to introduce you to Julian the trans puppet.

transpuppet

Via ctvnews.ca:

MONTREAL — The young school-age puppet named Julia feels in her heart she’s a boy and wants to be called Julian.

Trans advocates say for many very young children and their families, tackling such gender-related questions are real and can be complicated.

Enter Julian, the marionette at the heart of three bilingual videos designed to help provide youngsters and their families with the necessary tools to navigate such questions.

Julian (the puppet goes by Julien in French) is the brainchild of the Jasmin Roy Sophie Desmarais Foundation, a Montreal-based organization dedicated to fighting bullying, which unveiled the free video capsules and educational booklets Wednesday.

The videos, which tackle issues like gender identity, self-expression and acceptance, star Julian and his fellow puppet friends Leo and Annie in addition to a human female character named Alex.

The foundation’s Jasmin Roy said the intended audience is very targeted.

“We need to develop emotional and social skills for educators, parents and other children who are around those children exploring their gender or expression,” Roy said.

“Now, every time you have a child in your community who’s dealing with that reality, you’ll have a tool to help you.”

Where can we draw the line?  Where can we say no and not be called a bigot?  Every single time we extend a hand they want to take the entire arm.  Trans acceptance was never going to be enough.  They were always going to infiltrate the schools and get to our children.

This is a real danger.  This puppet is for little children.  Kids are still trying to figure out who the hell they are and what they want well into puberty and beyond.  I thought I was Indiana Jones when I was a kid, but is it really healthy to have the adults play into the fantasy?  There are already instances of parents losing custody of their children for refusing sex-change surgery.  We’re already at that point where the state can control your children without your permission.  Given the regret that can take place, and the crazy high suicide rates of trans people in general, is this really a road we should be going down in our children’s minds?  There are no doubt cases of children with true gender dysphoria.  But that number is astronomically low.  So low that installing trans puppets into schools to teach children about it will do far more harm than good.

We used to have a thing called common sense that would end crap like this in its tracks.  Today, we live too comfortably, and it gives too much time for people to take up causes that are entirely unnecessary and downright dangerous.  More on this in a post coming soon on the perils of Pax Americana.  The more I hear about what children are being subjected to in schools these days, the more tempting home schooling sounds.  It is undeniable your children are being programmed and indoctrinated in our education system.  They have our kids from kindergarten through college to program their minds however they want.

If you want to go further down the rabbit hole of what’s being programmed into our children, check out the video below on the Elsagate controversy or the f’ed up “children” shows they allow on YouTube.  Here’s a blurb from Wikipedia on Elsagate.

Elsagate is a neologism referring to the controversy surrounding supposedly child-friendly videos on YouTube and YouTube Kids which contain themes that are inappropriate for children. Most videos under this classification are notable for presenting content such as violence, sexual situations, fetishes, drugs, alcohol, toilet humor, and dangerous or upsetting situations and activities.[1]

The videos often feature popular characters from family-oriented media, sometimes via crossovers, used without legal permission; the term itself is composed of Elsa (a character from the 2013 Disney animated film Frozen, who is frequently depicted in such videos) and -gate (a suffix for scandals).[1] However, the Elsagate controversy has also included channels such as Toy Freaks that do not feature child/family-friendly characters but real children, and have raised concern about possible child abuse.

Most videos in this category are either live action films or crude digital animations, although a few channels have been using more elaborate techniques such as clay animation.[2] Despite YouTube’s age restriction policies, these videos are sometimes tagged in such a way to circumvent the inbuilt child safety algorithms, even making their way into YouTube Kids, and are thus difficult to moderate due to the large scale of the platform.[3] In order to capture search results and attract attention from users, their titles and descriptions feature names of famous characters, as well as keywords like “education”, “learn colors”, “nursery rhymes”, etc.[4][5] They also include automatically placed ads, making them lucrative to their owners and to YouTube. Despite the objectionable and often confusing nature of these videos, many attract millions of views.[4]

While criticism of the channels themselves has existed since at least 2016, public awareness of the phenomenon grew in 2017, as it became part of a broader controversy about child safety on YouTube. That year, after reports by several media outlets, YouTube adopted stricter guidelines regarding children’s content. In late November, the company started to mass delete channels and videos falling into the Elsagate category, as well as large amounts of other inappropriate videos or user’s comments relating to children.[6]

A few news item updates

Two stories from the last few days have had some updates that warrant commenting.

This story about a few Muslims training children for school shootings in a compound in New Mexico again highlights the double standard some in this country continue to try and push which will lead us closer to a civil war.  Fox News has reported that the five defendants were let out on $20,000 bail and GPS trackers.

The state judge who on Monday set a $20,000 bail for five defendants arrested at a remote New Mexico compound where authorities say children were being trained to conduct school shootings has a history of issuing low bail to violent offenders.

Judge Sarah Backus, an elected Democrat, ordered the two men and three women to wear ankle monitors, have weekly contact with their attorneys and not consume alcohol or own firearms while on bail. She said although she was concerned by “troubling facts,” prosecutors failed to articulate any specific threats to the community.

The five suspects were arrested more than a week ago when police raided a squalid makeshift living structure near the Colorado state line in response to a report of children living in filth, severe hunger and dangers including a leaky propane tank. The 11 children found at the compound were placed in state custody.

So let’s recap: five people keep children in squalid conditions in a compound and teach them how to use guns allegedly for school shootings.  A disabled child is reported kidnapped by the father.  A body found at the compound is suspected to be the disabled child, reportedly killed during an exorcism to “cure” him.  Does this sound like a sane group of people who pose no harm to the community?  I have a hard time believing this same standard would be applied if it had been a militia in Michigan and Caucasian defendants.  Even if you forget about the firearms training, which I’m okay with and is perfectly legal, is it really safe or fair or sane to let people out who let a kid die under their care, didn’t report it, and buried him without notifying anyone?

Not surprisingly, the judge in this case is a Democrat who went to school in California and worked in San Francisco for many years.  The article also reports she has a history of loosening up bails and sentences for violent offenders.

An update from this story in the continued deplatforming of Alex Jones.  Twitter has officially banned Alex Jones for 7 days after a livestream telling his viewers to prepare to defend themselves.  Yep, that’s it.

The legacy media and big social media are trying to kill free speech outright.  This is obviously a concerted effort to deplatform InfoWars.  These companies didn’t all magically and independently decide to ban them on their own.  The Twitters, Facebooks, and YouTube’s of the world will continue to pretend they are all about free speech then shadow ban and outright block anyone who doesn’t support the narrative.  Straight up 1984.

Update: And it looks like they’re going after Stefan Molyneux next.

YouTube is Dying

And they’re doing it to themselves.  At one point in time I thought YouTube was more about cash flows for Google via advertising, but these days it seems more to be their propaganda arm.  In the latest of things YouTube is now doing that nobody asked for, they will be adding “fact checks” to videos on topics they think spread scientific misinformation, according to BuzzFeed.

YouTube is now adding fact checks to videos that question climate change, BuzzFeed News has confirmed, as a part of its ongoing effort to combat the rampant misinformation and conspiratorial fodder on its platform.

On July 9, the company added a blurb of text underneath some videos about climate change, which provided a scientifically accurate explainer. The text comes from the Wikipedia entry for global warming and states that “multiple lines of scientific evidence show that the climate system is warming.”

This new feature follows YouTube’s announcement in March that it would place descriptions from Wikipedia and Encyclopedia Britannica next to videos on topics that spur conspiracy theories, such as the moon landing and the Oklahoma City bombing. In doing the same for climate videos, the company seems to be wading into more fraught and complex intellectual territory.

Great.  Because Wikipedia is such a reliable source as well.  Is this the world we really want to live in?  Is this the kind of Internet that we want?  Forget whatever side of the climate debate you may be on.  Do we really want everything put through YouTube’s filter with what they think we should or should not be viewing?  How Orwellian can they get?

The Internet at its core is what free speech is supposed to be about.  You should be able to watch whatever the hell you want without being force fed garbage.  And it should be noted that climate science is a HIGHLY variable science.  Hell, most climate models ever created have been wrong.  This article from 2013 goes into how wrong.  The bottom line is whether you think it’s all humans doing or just MAYBE have a little skepticism about how much we are contributing or how badly things are, you should be able to watch whatever the hell you want without additional (mis)information being peddled to you.

The screws continue to be turned on our liberties.  As I wrote about earlier today YouTube is already starting to heavily censor or just plain deplatform views they do not agree with.  They’re becoming bolder in their moves, and thankfully it will also be their demise.  New platforms like BitChute are starting to grow at a huge pace now in part thanks to YouTube’s Draconian policies.  See the video below from Razorfist as he had a great take on it today.  And lastly, if you’re looking for a Wikipedia like website, give Infogalactic a try.  A much more honest version of Wikipedia.

Shocker: Republicans hurt more than Democrats after Facebook algorithm changes

In perhaps the least surprising news to come out of the Facebook crap Republicans have seen a sharper decline in interactions with users than Democrats after Facebook’s algorithm changes made in January.  Via The Western Journal:

After Facebook’s January algorithm changes, pages associated with members of both major parties saw a significant decrease in interactions with readers, but the Facebook pages of Republican members of the House and Senate were impacted measurably more than those of their Democrat counterparts.

The exclusive report showed that the interaction rate on Republican congressional Facebook pages decreased by 37 percent, compared to a change of just over 27 percent on Democrat-operated pages.

The study goes into a lot more detail on the types of decreases.  I don’t think anybody is surprised by this result.  Mark Zuckerberg’s views are well known and he cannot be trusted.  Forget freedom of speech for a second, privacy concerns alone should be enough to get you off the platform.  Couple that with 1A and my sympathy can only extend so far for those whose privacy and rights are abused by FB.

The Cabal has woken up since the election and they are cracking down hard on all avenues that President Trump used to his advantage to reach potential voters.  Since they cannot win the war of ideas and arguments they’re not surprisingly going the censorship route.  Many think sites like Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter should be treated as public utilities and regulated as such.  I’m not sure I agree with this, but maybe it’s the best route at this point.  These sites like to tout they are all about freedom of speech because it sounds good, but the reality is they are censoring all the time, and when people are shadow banned or censored outright they like to then say they’re a private company and it’s their right.  Sorry, you can’t have it both ways.
